The ideal merger of life and work

Everyone at Roberts Kaplan will agree, we're a lucky bunch. We have a sophisticated regional law practice that is the envy of firms many times our size. And we get to work and enjoy ourselves in one of the best places on earth to call home -- Portland, Oregon. What's more, all of us share an enthusiasm for the practice of law and for guiding our clients to their desired goals. "We can get you there" is our motto, our mantra, our mission.

Our practice is located on a single floor in a downtown high rise. Working on just a single floor is a huge advantage. It sets a tone for how we function together (lean, agile, fast) and fosters a level of teamwork and friendship that most firms can't match. Decisions here are often made by popping into a couple offices, rather than winding through a multi-level approval maze. High efficiency. Better communication.

Like other enlightened companies here in the Pacific Northwest, we take time to enjoy ourselves outside work. Sometimes waaay outside. Travel and adventure are not foreign to us. We hike, bike, fish, ski and also bake bread, craft wooden baseball bats, and restore vintage automobiles. We feel that a healthy work/life balance makes for a better lawyer. Works for us (and our clients).

At every level of our firm, we are dedicated to achieving diversity. Our firm participates in Portland's minority job fairs and pursues other opportunities to create a more diverse workplace. Giving back to our community through volunteering and pro bono work is also important to us, as is preserving our environment.
