Roberts Kaplan launched on June 1, 2009 when my partners and I changed the name of our law firm from Foster Pepper LLP. For over 20 years, we had been in a very successful affiliation with Foster Pepper PLLC of Seattle. The end of the affiliation was mutual and amicable, and based on the two firms' different strategies. Our motivation to become independent is simple -- we will be better equipped to serve our clients by focusing on our Portland origins and client base. We wish our former Seattle colleagues continued success.

Our primary goal as lawyers is to help our clients reach their business goals. Roberts Kaplan attorneys want to know "why" before we try to figure out "how." We work hard to understand each client's business and goals. We then provide great client service, expertise, insight and advice. Our lawyers regularly represent clients in sophisticated, cutting edge corporate and real estate deals, and in important and complex litigation. But first and foremost, we never lose our focus on helping guide our clients toward their goals.
